Crete is the largest and most populous of the Greek islands. It is the fifth largest island in the Mediterranean Sea, and one of the 13 administrative regions of Greece. The largest city of Crete is Heraklion.
Crete's history is infused with myths, such as the Labarinth of Minos, the Minotaur and the Gods of Greece.
Heraklion Prefecture is the central region of Crete, Greece. It was the center of the Minoan civilization and contians a number of palaces, tombs and sacred sites.
