Staffordshire

Staffordshire is in the West Midlands of England. Historically it is thought that the county was formed in 913 because Stafford was a strategic military fording point for an army to cross the Trent. It became a secure fortified stronghold and the new capital of Mercia under Queen Æthelflæd.
