Mam Tor is an Ironage hillfort located close to Castleton, Derbyshire. The hill it is situated on is known as the Mother Hill and Shivering Mountain as it is unstable, causing frequent landslips.

The hillfort contains late Bronze age burial mounds, one on the summit and one just below with active occupation dating back to at least 1200 BC. The earthworks consist of a rampart, ditch and counterscarp bank with a possible inner bank and ditch on the south side. Later, small platforms were levelled into the hill near the summit on which timber huts were built.

The hillfort was excavated in 1965 - 69, they identified three phases of construction as well as a late Bronze age settlement.
