River Derwent is located in Derbyshire. It is only 66 miles long and a tributary to the River Trent.

Most of the rivers route is rural, with half of its length flowing through the Peak District. Historicly the river was one of the first used to power the Industrial Revolution, with the first indsurial scale cotton mills. It is now used to supply water to several surrounding cities and for recreation.
