Cratcliff Rocks is an irish hillfort located on a gritstone promontory on Harthill Moor, close to Robin Hoods Stride and Castle Ring near Birchover, Derbyshire.
The hillfort was only discovered recently by G.A. Makepeace, during a survey he was conducting. As with many other sites in the Peak District, the fort is defended naturally to the south and east where the land drops steeply, while to the north and west, where the land rises gently above the surrounding moor, the site is protected by a man-made construction.
