Cromford Steam Rally is located in a group of fields belonging to Highacres Farm on Dewey Lane, in Derbyshire.
In 1970, a small group of steam enthusiasts gathered in Cromford to show their restored steam engines. This became an annual event which also attracted old cars, motorbikes, tractors and lorries. Stationary steam pumps and donkey engines were also displayed as well as models and miniature steam engines.
Eventually the rally out grew its traditional site in the village and was forced to change its venue to a group of fields close to Tansley
